Project Plan (Artist's Statement)
At AIR 3331, I will investigate how Tokyo represents the juxtaposition of a culture that embraces artistry and crafts and is also open to exploring new technology. I am inspired to create a new body of work combining digital fabrication including 3D scanning and printing, photography, tracing on paper, and sculpture. During the residency, I aim to explore material culture and craftsmanship reflecting on how technology and shifts in the value of materials might alter these in the future.
