Project Plan (Artist's Statement)
During my residency, I will work on a series of works on paper that aim to capture and disrupt my abstract painting process and reflect the environment that I am making art within. This project commenced during a 2-month residency at the Sapporo Tenjinyama Art Studio, during which I took inspiration from the abstract shapes and forms that I noticed in the snowy environment. In Tokyo, I will continue to draw inspiration from my surroundings to create a series of iterative abstract compositions.
