Residence Plan
I plan to create a series of interconnected sculptures during my stay at AIR 3331. These would consist of abject masses that depict uncanny organs, abstract body systems, and physical representations of internal pain. Despite language and cultural differences, I believe we are able to form deep connections with one another through shared bodily sensations.

Lauren Tramontana is a fifth year sculpture-based artist at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Learning how to cope with and accept chronic pain is what led her to the exploration of visceral mold making materials in combination with fibrous threads/fabrics. Her ability to reveal both tension and abjection through the manipulation of different materials has been a crucial part of her healing journey.
