Daniel McClellan approaches painting as a game. Games are set based on rules and context and played out in series. Individual paintings can be understood as moves within a game; individual games can be understood as moves within a broader game. This approach allows McClellan to engage in a form of meta painting. He has an MFA and BFA from NAS. He has held two solo exhibitions, a duo exhibition, and participated in numerous group exhibitions. After his residency, he has a solo show in August.
