Residence Plan
My plan for the residency at AIR 3331 is to learn about the Japanese Tea Ceremony, matcha tea and the sociocultural and artistic aspects that are represented in this ritual. I am currently interested in researching how food can be used in different artistic expressions, especially performances, to engage with people by sharing something.

Born in 1993, Javiera Gómez's work focuses on looking for ways to reorganize the world by creating alternative narratives to resignify the world around us. Through drawing, sculpture, performances and research-based processes she proposes connections where the fantastic, the poetic and sensorial become fundamental to the understanding of symbols and elements that create our reality. Javiera also runs Proyecto Marisol, an independent art space in Santiago de Chile and Editorial Aquafaba, a zine publisher.
