Trans Arts Tokyo 2015 Participating Artist
During her residency with AIR 3331 Open Call, Mika Revell will be creating two mural artworks on-site of this year's Trans Arts Tokyo.
The first will be a graphic street-level work, currently visible to the public on the outer walls of the Former Tokyo Denki University Site. This work fuses ancient Japanese fables with contemporary images from everyday life in Tokyo.
Her production will also encompass an underground mural, which will be open to the public between the following dates:

Artist Talk
Mika Revell will be joining other resident artists Johnny Taylor and Katherine Groesbeck in the studio for a discussion of their artistic practices and the background to their residency production - the Kanda area of Tokyo.

Mika Revell is an Australian-Californian artist, specializing in figurative work with diverse medium, including traditional oils, acrylics, ink or mixed media; classically drawn from life or based on i-Phone images. Her experiences include producing huge ceramic figures for Mardi Gras floats in New Orleans, working with "look-alike" photographer Alison Jackson and painting streetscapes and murals with artists in Berlin and London.
