Profile
Iida Hägglund is a multidisciplinary girlartist. She's interested in feminist practices and themes and she's constantly exploring what feminist sound art could be like. Hägglund has coined the term "girlsound" to describe her art practice: it's intensive, dreamlike, and hauntological; it's resonance in your body, charged; it's a rebellion, mistakes, sad-girl bittersweet on the edge of happiness; it's silly and contradictory, it's home. She's currently working on an installation project and an album.

Residence Plan
During her residency, Hägglund will be working on her multidisciplinary art project "Spellbook of my girlhood" combining experimental graphic music composition, sound art, text-based art, installation, and collage art. The work explores girlhood hauntologically utilising the mouth as a portal to girlhood. The project explores girlhood especially in bodily, visceral ways.
