Profile
Ho Tam is a Canadian artist whose practice spans video, photography, painting, drawing, graphics and print media. His work often concerns mass media representations of race and identity politics. He has exhibited in galleries and film festivals across Canada and internationally (artist's website: ho-tam.com). In the past ten years, Tam has been focusing on his independent publishing practice under the imprint Hotam Press. His publications can be found on the website hotampress.com.

Project Plan
During my five-week residency, I plan to research Japanese visual arts and book work, focusing on print-based mediums and artist publishing and bookbinding. I will also work towards creating a new artist's book based on my experience of being in a foreign place and culture.
