Profile (Artist's Statement)
As an artist, I engage with the visual and material residue of urban life through assemblage, light, and spatial intervention. Working with discarded and everyday materials, I explore how fragmentation, ownership, and desire intersect within consumer culture. This approach embraces intuitive composition and transformation, creating layered works that resist fixed narratives. Playful, collage-like works evoke a sense of familiarity without representing anything specific.
Base of Activity: Rotterdam, The Netherlands
Media Used: Light installation, assemblage
Selected CV:
1. 'ECO' exhibition, Gallery Spazio Viruly, Rotterdam, 2025
2. Balawatsch in Vitro, Het archief, Rotterdam, 2024
3. BIG ART, Het Slotervaart, Amsterdam, 2024
Project Plan
During my two-month stay in Tokyo, I aim to collect and document materials from local markets, shops, and other places I visit. The outcome will be a series of works that combine Japanese craftsmanship and modern design, creating new compositions that reflect my intuitive work method. I anticipate the works will evolve through a series of small sculptures, prints, and/ or installations, with a focus on interactive components, where the materials invite the audience to engage and explore.
