Residence Plan
I will delve into the intersection of photography and painting within Japanese art, focusing on the fusion of these mediums from historical to contemporary times. My research includes studying fusuma--traditional Japanese sliding door panels adorned with paintings--whose artistic role is now shifting. By exploring this evolution, I aim to investigate how new and old intertwine in art. My work will incorporate fusuma, photography, painting, and concepts like horizontality and verticality in visual storytelling.
