Residence Plan
During my residency at AIR 3331 in Tokyo, I plan to embark on a transformative journey that blends immersion, exploration, and artistic creation. In the initial weeks, I will dive into Tokyo's vibrant art scene and culture, exploring galleries, museums, and street art while engaging with local artists to gain insights into Japanese culture. These experiences will serve as a rich source of inspiration for my work.

Kia ora! My name is Shawnee Tekii, a fine artist and arts educator based in Auckland, New Zealand. My artistic process is a fusion of traditional and modern techniques. I begin by crafting scenes and compositions through collaging found and personal photographs on my iPad. These digital compositions are transformed into hand-drawn illustrations, which I convert into stencils using a vinyl cutter. Finally, I paint layer by layer with acrylics and spray paints.
