Residence Plan
The aim of my project during my month-long stay at AIR 3331 is to create a series of paintings and drawings entitled, "In Praise of Shadows", inspired by Japanese architecture and focusing on interior aesthetics of Japanese architecture and gardens. The title of the project is taken from Junichiro Tanizaki's book, "In Praise of Shadows", published in 1933. The theme of the paintings and drawings for my final exhibition will be minimalist interiors of Japanese homes, mainly from the Meiji era.

Painter, art curator and lecturer at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wroclaw. For many years, Anna Kolodziejczyk has been producing a cycle of paintings entitled, "Image of Destructions", representing the world of old aesthetic ideas shown in the phase of decay. She recreates old photographs in new ways, drawing from them something that has inevitably passed away. She treats her own paintings as a kind of transition in which the original architectural object is replaced by a modern, abstract reflection.
The project "Internationalization of education, a competent teaching staff and modern management as a guarantee of quality and international presence of the Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław" co-financed by the European Union from the European Social Fund.
