Residence Plan
I will travel in Japan prior to the residency to draw and photograph in gardens and parks. I will produce a short series of woodblock prints on the theme of contained landscape, looking at how the impression of scale and wilderness can be retained within a small boundary. The set will connect together either organically through colour and composition or more formally as pairs of diptych prints. My ambition is to extend my printmaking skills and challenge my conceptions of landscape.

Artist Profile
1) Elected to Royal Society of Painter Printmakers 2017
2) Prints selected by UK House of Lords 'Prints for the Nation' collection 2012
3) Book 'Making Japanese Woodblock Prints', Crowood Press, publication 2019

Base of Activity: Buckinghamshire, England
Media Used: Linocut and Japanese woodblock printmaking
