Residence Project

During her time with AIR 3331, Rayer Ma will be working on a video project investigating the parallel between the human construction of nature and that of human society. She will be filming at Ueno Zoo as well as around Tokyo, devising performances and reconstructing the process in which otherness is designated. The video will set off a series of works inquiring after liminal social spaces.

Profile

Rayer Ma is an aspiring visual and performance artist. She works primarily in the painting and video medium and is interested in investigating the spatial relationship between body and image in the construction of material and imaginary realities. She grew up in Shanghai, China, and is currently a full-time student studying at Yale University in the United States.
