Profile

Madeleine Campbell (b.1988) lives and works in Vancouver, Canada, where she recently graduated from Emily Carr University of Art and Design's Masters of Applied Arts Program. Her video and photographic practice explores subjective understandings of space through personal history, pop culture, psychoanalytic theory, and bodily knowledge. Considering her surroundings as psycho-emotional and political subject matter, she explores the relationship between herself and the spaces she inhabits as both a personal experience of subjectivity and a shared cultural construct.

Residence Plan

During her residency at 3331 Madeleine held an open studio as well as an exhibition portraying a personal account of her time spent exploring Tokyo, one that contradicts than the idealized images she found herself emailing to friends and family back home.
